WELCOME TO MEDIA DEALS!
MEDIA DEALS is a pan-European network of investors interested in investing in the media sector. The network addresses business angels looking for opportunities in film, TV, mobile, video games, and new platforms.
The combined trends of the convergence of the media platforms and of the globalisation of the media markets makes it an imperative for media companies and media investors to develop strategies and look for opportunities beyond their national borders.
As the face of the MEDIA DEALS network for the outside world, this website aims to provide the following services to investors looking for investment opportunities and to media companies looking for finance:
-
An information platform gathering industry-specific news and analysis on private investment in the IT media sector and its legal environment in cooperation with our partners Cineuropa.org and peacefulfish.
-
A deal flow platform for media entrepreneurs looking for finance who can present their company or projects and start a dialogue in full confidentiality with the members of our network.
MEDIA DEALS also develops a series of events and trainings aimed at equity investors and media entrepreneurs:
-
A series of pitching events where media entrepreneurs will go through a business pitch training before pitching their company or projects directly to investors.
-
A series of training seminars for investors offering industry-specific knowledge and tools to investors and managers of funds and networks in order to help them understand how to make the best deals in the media sector and how to find the best opportunities.
Finally, MEDIA DEALS runs surveys and research on issues linked to its activities.
MEDIA DEALS recently carried out a Study on Private Equity Investment in the Content Industry in Europe Click here for more information.
Mission of MEDIA DEALS
The mission of MEDIA DEALS is to help private equity looking for opportunities in the media sector on the one hand, and innovative and professional media companies on the other hand, to find each other and create successful financial and entrepreneurial co operations. Public institutions will also be involved in this interaction bringing complementary business and financial support.
The Opportunity
Originating from the cultural area, media investment has always enjoyed support from the public sector. But with the development of new distribution platforms and with the globalisation of the markets, public financing has reached its limits in its capacity to sustain the industry. The impact of private investment is increasing and the public sector is more than ever ready to support private initiative through subsidies or incentives. This represents a unique opportunity to create a win/win partnership for investors and media entrepreneurs using the leverage of the public hand - for instance by setting up public-private partnerships (PPP).
